Canadian Guest of Honour

Louise Penny

Louise Penny is the international bestselling author of the Chief Inspector Gamache mystery series. Her first book, STILL LIFE, won the UK Dagger, the Canadian Arthur Ellis, as well as the US Anthony, Barry and Dilys awards. Her second book, DEAD COLD, won the Agatha Award for Best Novel, the first Canadian writer to win that award. Her third, The Cruellest Month, was shortlisted for the Arthur Ellis for Best Novel and debuted at #1 on the US IMBA bestseller lists. Her latest novel is THE MURDER STONE.

Louise is deeply grateful to the Crime Writers of Canada, as an organization, and to the writers themselves, for being such a genuinely supportive community. And to the readers, who are passionate, smart and kind. What could be better than getting together with other mystery readers and writers? Despite her great good fortune in being published, and with these awards, Louise knows her greatest award is being married to Michael, and living a life of bliss in Sutton, Quebec, with friends, family and two smelly golden retrievers.
